BWC Women’s Accommodation Support Service (WASS) delivers support for women who are homeless or insecurely housed. In line with BWC values, the WASS adopts a relational, trauma responsive, strengths based approach. The WASS supports women across a range of underlying needs, identified by them, with the overarching aim of securing and/or sustaining safe accommodation.
The Women’s Accommodation Support Worker (WASW), will co-facilitate weekly women only Hubs for women who are homeless or insecurely housed. The Hubs offer women access to practical and emotional support as well as advice, information and access to other relevant support services.
The WASW will co-produce casework support with each woman referred, to address her practical and emotional needs, and agree actions including signposting, advocacy and referrals. The WASW will understand the importance of building trust and self-compassion to enhance women’s recovery and ability to engage with BWC and other services.

Job Title: Women’s* Accommodation Support Worker (WASW) East Sussex and Brighton
Responsible to: WASS Senior Practitioner
Purpose of role: To co-deliver weekly Women only Hubs in Eastbourne and St Leonards-On-Sea and provide one-to-one case work support in Brighton and East Sussex for homeless and insecurely housed women to support them to secure and/or sustain safe accommodation.
Salary Grade: FTE (35 hours) £27,490.81 or pro-rata equivalent
Working hours: Up to 35 hours per week with the following options:
- 35 hours covering Brighton and East Sussex or
- 21 hours Brighton
- 14 hours East Sussex
Work locations: To cover weekly Women’s Hubs in Eastbourne and St Leonards-On-Sea and casework in East Sussex and Brighton. We have offices in Eastbourne and Brighton
Contract Details: Fixed term until June 2025
