On Saturday 5th August 2006, we hosted the Brighton Pride Women’s Performance Tent at Preston Park.
We would like to thank Brighton Pride and Brighton & Hove City Council for kindly providing funding for the tent. We would also like to thank Barber Black Sheep and Brighton pub, the Marlborough, for their support.
Superbly organized by staff and a team of dedicated volunteers, the event attracted an enormously enthusiastic crowd keen to enjoy the performances and activities throughout the day including the popular tombola to help raise funds for BWC!
Women artists travelled from far and wide to participate at Pride this year, showcasing a range of diverse talent that we were privileged to introduce.
A huge thank you to all the Women’s Performance Tent artists for donating their performances to this year’s Pride.

Feedback from the event was extremely positive!
“Just had to write a few lines to say how much we enjoyed the music and atmosphere of the Women’s Performance Tent on Saturday. We will definitely be back for next year’s Brighton Pride because of it. “
“For those of you who made it to Brighton for this year’s Pride you will agree that it was the highlight of the summer calendar…blazing sunshine, thousands of people and an amazing atmosphere all combined to create a fantastic day. For GREYMATTER this was a long-awaited gig that proved to be everything they expected, and more. Hundreds of people crammed into the Pride Women’s Performance tent to sing and dance along with tracks from our debut album – it would not be possible to recreate the electric atmosphere and feeling of the day!”
“Excellent – best PRIDE ever!”
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event, and we hope to see you next year!
