Food support in Brighton

The BWC Cornershop has been created to provide flexible, dignified food support for women using BWC services. Instead of receiving a pre-packed food parcel, you can choose the items that best meet your needs, including cupboard staples, bread, fresh and frozen food, and dietary options where available.

The Cornershop is designed to give women greater choice and control, while helping make food support more sustainable for the local Brighton community.

Who can use the BWC Cornershop?

The BWC Cornershop is for women who need food support in Brighton. Appointments are available every two weeks and last 15 minutes, giving you time to choose the food items that work best for you.

How the foodbank model works

The BWC Cornershop works like a small social supermarket. You can select from a range of essential food items, depending on what is available on the day. This may include tins, cartons, long-life cupboard staples, bread, fresh fruit and veg, frozen food, and a selection of gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and other dietary options where possible.

To help keep the service running, there is a small charge for items bought from the Cornershop: £3 for any 8 items or £5 for any 12 items. Cash and card are both accepted.
