Community Forum

Because you are the expert in your experience, and you are the reason we do what we do. To make sure we are providing services that are in your best interest, we need to not only listen to your insight, but work together to see if, and how, we can improve what we do. We have confidence and trust that you can achieve meaningful changes in how BWC shows up for the women we support.

The BWC Community Forum is for women who use (or have used) our services.

It is committed to:

• Making an impact to all women and children in our community.
• Engaging in discussions that lead to solutions.
• Having an open mind and heart, ensuring everyone has a fair opportunity to share.
• Creating a comfortable environment of acceptance, non-judgement, respect, support, and encouragement.

This group is not for you if:

• You are not comfortable or feel safe in large groups.
• Do not want to engage in group discussions, or not open to discussing a variety of topics.
• You do not like to hear opposing views to your own, or other peoples lived experiences.
• You are quick to anger or enjoy conflict.
• You want to use this space to raise your complaints.

We help women from all backgrounds, facing all kinds of issues, to live happier, safer lives. Women’s needs are at the centre of what we do. We recognise that each woman is an individual, with her own history, her own challenges, and her own hopes – and we want and value her input into how to deliver our services to meet her needs.

We're inviting you to join the BWC Community Forum by attending our regular sessions (both in person and online) that are led by you, in a supportive space for everyone to engage in meaningful conversations. BWC will consider feedback and develop its service delivery based on your input. We are committed to feeding back to you on what is possible, and what changes we have implemented and why.

Once we have received this, we will arrange an informal meeting to go into more detail about the forum, expectations, any hopes or concerns, and practical details. We can then move onto providing you with an induction before you join. BWC will reimburse you for the Community Forum meetings.
