ToyBox receive £5,000 funding from the Sussex Community Foundation

ToyBox Early Years has received £5,000 funding from the Sussex Community Foundation, enabling the Ofsted-registered pre-school to continue to provide affordable and accessible childcare to women and families in Brighton & Hove.

ToyBox do not ask for any hidden fees on top of the Early Years Funding Entitlement that 3 to 5-year-olds are offered. This means that low income families have the ability to access quality early years education, as well as get respite and peace of mind knowing their child is safe and cared for.

“Funding will help keep our doors open. Without funding, we would not be able to cater for the families that need us most. We know how important quality childcare is and what that means to both the parent/ carer and child.”
Gemma Turner, ToyBox Manager.

ToyBox (rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted) are trauma-informed and fully inclusive. They provide flexible and tailor-made childcare, alongside Early Years Education for children of 0 to 5 years. With Brighton Women’s Centre being at the heart of their setting, they are able to give the child and their parent/ caregiver the wrap-around care package that they may need, while providing truly feminist care.

“It is our mission at ToyBox to provide a safe and secure environment by putting the needs of the child and their families first.”

The Sussex Community Foundation has supported around 2,000 charities across East and West Sussex and Brighton and Hove and has raised over £46 million to support Sussex communities since 2006.
