On 29th September, at the 11th BrightonSoup event, Stefanie Lake pitched for the Brighton Women’s Centre and won the vote receiving £383.30 in donations to buy replacement computers for the BWC drop in suite.

A new computer would mean that volunteers and service users could work together to research information and support, without the constant frustration of IT problems and painfully slow connections. The money will help women in the local community who don’t have access to a computer or the internet, to access technology in a safe space, with the support of our volunteers – Stephanie Lake.

BrightonSoup is a platform for small local projects to pitch for seed-funding in a uniquely social, interactive community setting. A bit like Dragon’s Den, but without the dragons, just a warm and supportive group of local people.
