BWC’s Latest Annual Report Reveals More Women Relying on the Service than Ever Before

BWC (Brighton Women’s Centre) is proud to announce the publication of its Annual Report for 2024–2025, marking another year of transformative work supporting women across Sussex. This milestone report is a celebrates 50 years of BWC’s sustained dedication to improving the lives of women in Sussex and, latterly, into Kent and Surrey. 

The report highlights BWC’s continued commitment to gender equality, trauma-informed care, and support women facing multiple disadvantages to feel heard, held, happier and hopeful. 

Key Highlights from the Report:  

  • 968 women and children were directly supported by BWC in 2024-2025, marking an increase in demand from the previous year by 14%. 
  • 84% of women receiving therapy felt less anxious. 
  • 83% of women involved in our Inspire service, which offers positive alternatives for women involved in the Criminal Justice System, felt the service improved their overall attitudes, thinking and behaviours. 
  • 95% of women using our drop-in support hubs and foodbank were either happy or very happy with the support provided 
  • 100% of women involved in the Peer Support service felt supported, with 89% of them saying they felt a greater sense of social connection as a result. 
  • Our ToyBox Nursery was open for 600 hours, supporting 14 children, with 100% of parents feeling their children’s interests were included in the curriculum, and it encouraged them to make healthy choices.  
  • 94% of women using our Women’s Accommodation Support Service felt more able to cope, and 95% felt a greater sense of safety.
